Introducing the
Southern Gateway Business Park Menangle
Mirvac, in partnership with Benedict Industries and the Halfpenny family, are seeking to deliver a thriving employment hub at a site located between the southern railway line and Moreton Park Road, Menangle which will provide significant economic growth and prosperity for South Western Sydney, Greater Macarthur and the broader Wollondilly Shire. Referred to as the ‘Southern Gateway Business Park’ (SGBP), the site is strategically located at the future planned intersection of the Hume Motorway and Outer Sydney Orbital (OSO), an area identified by the State Government as a future employment precinct.
In order to deliver this, Mirvac has lodged a Planning Proposal with Wollondilly Shire Council (Council) to amend its Local Environmental Plan 2011 (WLEP 2011) to rezone approximately 150 hectares of land to permit employment land uses. The SGBP proposal includes the up front delivery of a new interchange with the Hume Motorway at the existing Moreton Park Road overpass which will provide direct access to the SGBP from the motorway. We are committed to seeking your feedback and keeping you informed about progress.
The Wollondilly Shire is currently experiencing major population growth with over 40,000 people expected to move to the Shire by 2041. There is one local job for every four people living in the Wollondilly Shire. More local jobs are needed now and in the future, so more locals can work closer to home.
The Southern Gateway Business Park (SGBP) will support this growth by:
Site
Rezoning approximately 150 hectares to permit employment land uses with a mix of small to large warehouses
Local Job Creation
Creating 290 jobs annually throughout construction and 4,500+ local jobs once operational
Connectivity
Delivering an interchange with the Hume Motorway at the existing Moreton Park Road overpass that, with the State Government's proposed east west connection over the Nepean River, will connect Menangle to the Greater Macarthur Area
Please note these consultation methods and the feedback received by Urbis Engagement will not qualify as a formal submission, all formal submissions will need to be via Council’s website.
